As I was looking through pictures from the past year trying to figure out what I would say tonight, nothing was standing out.
We did a lot of the usual things: We went to Moab,
we went to Silverton,
we went ghost town hunting,
we went aspen viewing,
we played in the snow,
we did some easy trails,
and we did some hard trails,
but is there anything that stands out in this past year?
One thing that finally occurred to me was this: we welcomed back a lot of old friends who hadn’t been with us for a while:
Scott and Terry Hansen,
Wil Davis,
Eric Schultz,
John Wells
Tim Trowbridge
J.D. Meyers
and James Marcy
Another thing that struck me was that, even though we seemed to have fewer rigs per trip,
overall we had more rigs on the trail.
Near as I can tell from the pictures our biggest trip had about 10 rigs,
our smallest had 1.
Average seemed to be around 5 or 6.
Overall we had about 35 rigs join us at one time or another.
Our ambitious schedule seems to be doing what it is intended to, giving people more choices and providing more opportunities for people to get out on the trail.
It was good to have a few more trail leaders this year, too. Richard,
Loren,
and Charlie
all took turns at the head of the pack
I think we had another good year doing what we do best. Enjoying each other’s company in the beauty of God’s creation.
